Sky Debuts Permanent Yayoi Kusama Sculpture

New York City’s first permanent installation by world renowned Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, a 9-foot bronze pumpkin sculpture, has been unveiled at the entrance of Midtown West’s new 71-story residential development Sky in the building’s infinity loop motor court. In 2016 TIME Magazine named Yayoi Kusama one of the world’s 100 most influential people.

Developed by the Moinian Group, one of the nation’s most prominent real estate companies, Sky, now the nation’s largest single residential rental tower, features luxury residences ranging from studios to two bedrooms. Sky also unveiled two “Infinity Net” paintings by Yayoi Kusama that are featured in the building’s lobby designed by starchitect David Rockwell.
