With luxury being the norm in New York’s condominium developments, it is no surprise to see that the classic motor court is making a comeback. In the Upper East Side an old-world motor court is due to arrive at 20 East End Avenue in the summer of 2016. The location will include an original Robert A.M. Stern-designed cobblestone feature with delicate landscaping and latticework, creating “the feeling of a garden,” says Stern. The designer has set out to gracefully reflect the mood of the neighborhood by combining new luxury with old standards to create a very special sense of desirability. The Wall Street Journal highlighted 20 East End Avenue in an article about “New Manhattan Condos Offer Old-World Motor Courts.”
