Fall Time is the Right Time for the Hamptons

Fall Time is the Right Time for the Hamptons

While there really isn’t anything quite like a summer in the Hamptons – gorgeous beaches, stunning light and glorious sunsets – we thought you might also consider the legendary summer haven located at the very eastern edge of Long Island as a fall destination. The traffic is lighter. The lines are shorter. And the weather is perfect for enjoying time on the East End. There is so much to see, taste and do that we here at Relevance New York decided to share some of our favorite fall picks. We’ve even included two great real estate opportunities we think you should consider.

WHAT TO DO

Parrish Art Museum
Inspired by the natural setting and artistic life of Long Island’s East End, the Parrish Art Museum illuminates the creative process and how art and artists transform our experiences and understanding of the world and how we live in it. The Museum fosters connections among individuals, art, and artists through care and interpretation of the collection, the presentation of exhibitions, publications, educational initiatives, programs, and artists-in-residence. The Parrish is a center for cultural engagement, an inspiration and destination for the region, the nation, and the world.

Side note, do you have historic 8mm, Super 8, or 16mm home movies shot in Southampton Town? In celebration of the town’s 375th anniversary, the Parrish Art Museum will be screening a selection of home movies, submitted by the public, that highlight the character and history of this unique region.

The Hamptons International Film Festival
The Hamptons International Film Festival was founded to celebrate independent film—long, short, fiction and documentary—and to introduce a unique and varied spectrum of international films and filmmakers to our audiences. The festival is committed to exhibiting films that express fresh voices and differing global perspectives, with the hope that these programs will enlighten audiences, provide invaluable exposure for filmmakers and present inspired entertainment for all. This year, the festival takes place October 8th to 12th and Oscar buzz is already surrounding many festival entrants including Spotlight, starring Michael Keaton and Mark Ruffalo, as well as director Todd Haynes’ Carol, starring Cate Blanchett.

WHERE TO STAY / EAT / RELAX

Topping Rose House is ideally situated within walking distance of boutiques, art galleries and cafés. Topping Rose House is the Hamptons’ first full-service luxury hotel featuring 22 elegantly appointed guestrooms in the House, Studio and Cottages as well as spa services, fitness center, heated outdoor pool, distinct private event spaces, house vehicles from Lexus, and a complimentary shuttle to the beautiful beaches and local attractions in Bridgehampton. Winston Wächter Fine Art curated an exciting collection of contemporary art throughout the property.

The 75-seat restaurant run by famed chef Ryan Murphy is truly farm-to-table, featuring produce grown on the property’s one acre Topping Rose Farm and honoring the best ingredients from other local farmers and fishermen.

And as a special treat, on Saturday, October 17th, beginning at 7 p.m. with canapes, the stars align as Topping Rose House launches its first dinner of a new series with the ebullient tastemaker of Chateau Lagrezette: Alain Dominique Perrin. A force of nature, M. Perrin is a visionary behind the oldest, most renowned Malbec wine estate in France. The great wines of the estate will be featured in a stellar lineup. Topping’s executive chef Ryan Murphy, has carefully crafted an extraordinary menu of flavors matched to the exalted wines of the Lagrezette estate.
